Hey guys, welcome to blog number THREE! Today we will be talking about applications or for short, apps. As we have all noticed, there is an app for literally EVERYTHING… name it, they’ve got it. This is exactly what the sports apparel industry is going for, but with a little twist… workout app! Rather than focusing on their products on apparel, “many companies in the segment are rolling out apps that help consumers quantify their athletic activities” (Contributor, 2017). The digital transformation has been embraced by companies like Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour. They’ve partnered with Apple and Google to help “gather consumer data on which they can base future product decisions” (Contributor, 2017). If there is a spike on consumers doing kickboxing, they can develop a new category for that segment.
Personally, I use the Nike Run Club app to track my running achievements and the best part is you can link the type of Nike shoes you are wearing for that specific run! What’s your favorite fitness app?
